The Panamanian Union of Commercial Aviators (hereinafter UNPAC) is a social organization of workers founded on January thirty (30), 1967 according to the legislation of the Republic of Panama. It is a Union of union-type workers, as it is made up of people of the same profession, Pilots Aviators.
At that time, the workers (air pilots) considered the need to structure all their wills as imperative, in a unionized entity for the search for the rapprochement and unification of each and every one of the Aviation professionals and that integration is essential of its members, seeking for this the coordination of all the efforts and values of its units.
Why Union and not Association?
The name of our organization is regulated by Panamanian labor law, in such a way that the name of "Union or Union" is only allowed to be used by any permanent association of workers.
What do we do?
Panamanian labor legislation establishes as essential purposes of all Union is the improvement, study, protection and defense of their respective common economic and social interests.
Our Union frames its activities within the aforementioned purposes and we specifically dedicate ourselves to: Gathering all the commercial airmen pilots of the country on the basis of solidarity, cooperation, equality, protection and defense of our interests. Seek to improve the working conditions of our members. Celebrate the Collective Labor Agreements to which our members are subject, as well as guarantee their compliance. Represent Our members in conflicts, controversies and individual or collective claims that arise. To advocate that the relations between workers and employers are developed on the basis of justice, mutual respect and collaboration aimed at improving the conditions of the economic activity in which we operate. Promote union education for our members. Promote the development and progress of aviation in general. Defend the professional, cultural, labor and economic rights of its members as well as provide help to their families when circumstances demand it. Fight for the rights that according to the Constitution and the laws correspond to citizens and all those activities that the law and our statutes allow.
How do we finance our activities?
The UNPAC receives all of its economic resources from the economic contribution (Union Fee) of its members.
UNPAC is not currently engaged in profit-making activities.
It should be noted that Panamanian labor legislation allows the development of lucrative activities by the social organizations of workers, when this contributes to the general benefit of all its associates.
